Established by veteran arts educator Pat Navarino in 1988, Renaissance Art Studio has served the Millburn/Short Hills and greater Essex County area as a stable and nurturing place for school age artists to thrive and create. In 2008, ownership of the studio transferred to Pat’s daughter Rebecca Scinto; its latest evolution finds the school entrusted into the hands of Adam and Denise Gustavson, as of November 2014.
Adam holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York, and is the award winning illustrator of over two dozen books for children. He has taught at Seton Hall University and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and has served as an instructor at Renaissance for the past 16 years. As the new owner, he will continue to use his broad knowledge of artistic techniques—combined with years of professional experience—to help his students achieve their highest potential.
Denise, whom Adam met in art college and later married, has managed his illustration career for the past 10 years. She has worked as a textile designer, art director, and production artist, and will now become the manager and coordinator of Renaissance Art Studio.
Together, and combined with an incredibly talented teaching staff, we hope to encourage, instruct and support our young artists in their every endeavor.
